RESONANCE
Resonance is an ongoing series of collage paintings and x-ray prints. The x-ray prints show large sea shells and tuning forks scanned together in an x-ray machine. The work explores the resonance of the ocean sound that one hears when they place a sea shell up to the ear and the resonance of musical notes that tuning forks make when struck.

In my Resonance | Rebirth series, I create multilayered works that question the nature of the image and how it is structured. Using everyday objects such as snails and tuning forks, I X-ray them to reveal their internal structures, which I print onto wooden panels preserving their natural grain and historical patina.
Inspired by Francisco Hernández’s poem on the resurgence of life, I juxtapose typography and syllables over the radiographic images, adding successive abstract layers of paint, paper, sgraffito, and other techniques.
Finally, I incorporate living organic elements—seeds, leaves, and stems—that emerge from cracks and fissures, symbolizing constant rebirth.
The series dialogues with the concept of ruin: forms once built with ritual or symbolic purpose that, over time, are transformed by life into something more complex and organic.
Through these works, I invite reflection on how layers of time, memory, sound, and living matter overlap and resonate.
